Tell us a bit about you: I am The Web Master for the East Sussex Cat Club. I live in kent with my family and fur family.
I have been breeding since 2001 a mere 7 years compared to others and we are still learning day by day. I started Showing in 2003 and was hooked.
(more about that later). I started my cat family with a ginger rescue tom cat, called 'ginger',- very original ! I then met my 'other half' Kevin, who also had a
ginger female cat called ' skitz'. And I must say Skitz by name, Skitz by nature. If she sat on your knee, then you needed to get up, you had to stand up
with your hands behind your back so she wouldn't attack you, very scary.
Unfortunately both Skitz who was 16 and ginger who was 8 both passed away, Skitz from old age and Ginger with Liver Cancer.
| We started breeding with my very first pedigree cat, she is a British Short hair Blue - Amy.(Princess Amidala) Now neutered We added another two girls a year later called Leia and Rosie. (Princess Leia and Flamenco Rose) and the final two a year after, at this stage was Polly now GrPr Pollyfelina Blue Kamino and Trubrit Jarjar Binx, pet name Binxie. All of these ladies are neutered and living the life of reilly at home with us and with my close family members. |

| Why did you choose your breed?: I didn't know anything about the breed Kevin had a brit in his '' past life'' and showed me some |
 |
photos, I fell in love with them on sight. After learning more about them, it sealed my fate, I just didn't want one I wanted to breed them.
Why did you choose your prefix? My prefix was my last choice on my list. Mabledon. My first was Alderaan, as Kevin and I are big fans of Starwars, as you can tell by some of my cats registered names.
Under my prefix we breed several colours Including Blue, Bluecream, Cream, Lilacs, Chocolate Self's and Colourpointed, plus Bi colours.. |

When were your most memorable occasions as a breeder? I remember, Leia having her first litter, this was my very first litter as a breeder.
Leia had 6 cream kittens and 1 blue one, every one was born tail and back paws first, my friend, a well established breeder and judge, had to talk me
through reviving everyone of them. I saved their little lives and I cried at the end of it, It was so emotionally draining. It was Fantastic. Terrifying.
Nerve wrecking. Then exhilarating to hear them cry for the first time after seeing them come out lifeless.
Who were/are the most memorable cats you've had? I will always remember my cats gone by, whether they have passed away or living with my
family getting one to one love and affection. However, there is always one, One that affects you more than most. Her name was Rosie. Rosie was not a
typical British in appearance, (as you find out in later years), but she was the best mum and pet ever.
I remember a kitten that would not eat from a syringe, mum wouldn't feed it either, and in sheer desperation to save its life, with kitten in hand I went up to
Rosie in the kitten playroom (her kittens were coming up to 9 weeks old) and let her sniff it, she just lay down for it to feed from her. I spent 2 hours with her,
trying to get the kitten to feed she just lay there occasionally cleaning it. She was fantastic. She was my little mate. I still well up with tears when i think of
this occasion, she was so good.
On a brighter note. Polly and Penny have done so well at the Shows I find their times at the shows very memorable. I will not be showing Polly anymore as she hates it, I am a nervous wreck when showing her as I am expecting the show manager to tell me she has been thrown out for being so naughty and scratching the judges. Penny on the other hand is like putty in your hands, actually I have seen judges handle her and they are putty in her paws. She grabs their hands and licks them all over. We frequently have written on the back of her ''cc's''- wonderful temperament. The show critiques for the shows always state that my cats are in fabulous condition, and seeing that, makes it worthwhile.
What are your hopes for the future of your breed/your breeding program?: This year we are starting to broaden our horizons and try our hand at colourpoints, we have a girl and boy especially for this part of our breeding program. Dragoneyes Sea Spirit-Puddin, and Bestobritz Romeo - Cracker (as in Cream Cracker). We are going to continue with our Blue self's program with Trubrit Mollyjones, Mabledon Endormirage Moon, Mabledon Stass Allie, Tufton Decoding Davinca. And Mabledon Tusken Raider. And our Bi-colour Program with Minnie Bee, and genosian Comet. Next year we plan to expand into chocolates and lilacs. My first lilac-cream is getting bigger as I type, she is from Stefrosha - Sharon. I cant wait for my to bring her home.
Is there anything else you'd like to mention?
A special thanks to the people who have bred our cats and had faith in me to keep them in a manner that they are accustomed to, Spoilt !
