Keeko
TICA Grand Champion Valisa Keeko Amira
Location: Redhill in Surrey
Breed(s): Singapura, First litter if Singapuras early 2008
Tell us a bit about you: I worked with animals for a long time and then switched to working with people. I really missed the animals and wanted a way back in.
I found these guys which along with our other pets are not only my hobby but my life. We have 5 cats all together, 2 are OAP moggies and we also have a Border Terrier. All of which are much loved.
Why did you choose your breed(s)? I chose Singapuras because of their outstanding beauty, elegance cheeky persuasiveness and their desire to be warm. They are ideal for house pets and would be a danger to themselves outside with their need to explore everything size and agility that enables them to get almost anywhere. As soon as I saw them I was smitten. No other breed has had quite the same effect, yet. Almost but not quite!
Why/how did you start breeding? I started breeding as I wanted to become as involved as I could with this breed and help with it's progression.
Why did you choose your prefix? It is a combination of mine and my partners names and coincidentally is the name of a Japanese Cherry Blossom which is almost as beautiful as these cats
When were your most memorable occasions as a breeder. Births and rehoming's of the kittens. Both are emotional times and I wouldn't have it any other way
Who were/are the most memorable cats you've had? My darling Willow who's details can be found on the Rainbow Bridge page of my website. The other cats are still with us and they are all as treasured as each other. Moggies included (and not forgetting the dog)

What are your hopes for the future of your breed/your breeding programme? I hope to breed happy healthy pets. Stunning show winners would be an added bonus. Having said that our first home bred girl we kept won BOV at 15 weeks at her first show.

Is there anything else you'd like to mention? Anyone who wants to learn more about these fantastic cats can do so by looking at the Singapura Cat Club Website www.singapuracatclub.org.uk, looking on my site at www.kwansan.co.uk or calling me for a cat chat
